An international scientific conference on “Regional cooperation in the context of security and modern development” was held at the Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the assistance of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

It should be noted that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev determined that Uzbekistan’s foreign policy pays special attention to constructive and mutually beneficial relations with its closest neighbors, strengthening regional security and stability.

In order to ensure security and stability in Central Asia, Uzbekistan actively cooperates with a number of countries, including the United States, Russia, China, the countries of the European Union, the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the UN, SCO, CIS and OSCE.

This international conference has become a logical continuation of efforts in this direction. The event was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Shukhrat Kholmukhammedov, representatives of law enforcement agencies, as well as the acting coordinator of the OSCE project in Uzbekistan, Hans Ulrich Im.

During the conference, reports were listened to on the role of the international community in ensuring global and regional security and conflict prevention, important factors in ensuring security in Central and South Asia, on the features and nature of modern conflicts.
