The New Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established on the basis of the oldest military educational institution – the Tashkent Higher General Command School – in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 25, 2017, and incorporates its glorious military traditions, as well as the accumulated experience of the First Academy of the Armed Forces, established in 1994, and other leading scientific and educational institutions of the country. In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 29, 2025, the Academy of the Armed Forces was reformed, and the University of Military Security and Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established on its basis. Today it is a center of military science.
